In ancient times, Serres was a major economic and strategic hub. The region’s rich and fertile plain and accessible mountains have for centuries enhanced the quality of the products it yields. The various names by which the city has been known since antiquity are much the same as its modern-day name, having reached this day and age with relatively few alterations.
The oldest epigraphic monument which preserves the inscription ‘Sirraion Polis’, or ‘City of the Citizens of Serres’, dates from the Roman era and is on display at the Archaeological Museum of Serres.
From father to son, the Grigoriadis family has been deeply immersed in the tradition and production of olive oil. It has been cultivating olives for more than two generations, a vocation that remains in the forefront of the family’s life throughout the year. Each task has its proper season, from pruning the olive trees, to harvesting the crop, and the family toils hard so that it can offer the best and have its very own, exceptional olive oil to show for it. The zeal and enthusiasm with which the Grigoriadis family tackle the production of Sirreon stems from their love for their heritage, tradition and, naturally, for the land that nurtures their olives!
The Grigoriadis organic olive groves, spanning just over six acres, have been owned by the family since 1980 and harbour olive trees that are more than thirty years old.
In a small mountain village in Haropo, Serres, which lies in the north-eastern part of the Prefecture of Serres and was built on the southern slope of Mount Lailias and west of Mount Menikio, we set out to plant our olive trees with respect and love for the materials that nature and the Serrean earth provide in such bountiful supply.
A dry, healthy climate, where in old times people with lung problems used to spend the summer to convalesce, is where we decided to embark on our Vision!

Mark of Authenticity
The Sirreon trademark was not a random choice. It is a modern, abstract representation of a precious, remarkably nutritious fruit, namely the olive, which also resembles a human fingerprint.
Our aim was not merely to promote an entirely new culture in the world of olive oil, but mainly to express the unique flavour, aromas and quality that the Sirreon varieties stand for and offer.
For as long as the Serrean land, with its temperate climate and age-old tradition of cultivation, continues to surprise us, Sirreon will harness this uniqueness in order to offer us some of the most flavourful and aromatic varieties of extra virgin olive oil.
